Can you please share the difference between root.sh and rootupgrade.sh?
I accidentally ran root.sh when upgrading grid from 12.1 to 19c instead of rootupgrade.sh.

What problems can arise, if any from this?

I don't think there will be an issue, because root.sh is mainly about setting permissions for a clean install.

You still need to run rootupgrade.sh because it does a lot more.

But !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First thing you always do in a situation like this, is log an SR and explain the situation and seek clarification. They are the best to advise you here.
