Hi Tom/Team,

I have installed Oracle 11g Database on my Windows 10 64-bit machine. All installation has been completed successfully. I have checked connections by sqlplus and it's running fine. I am able to run queries as well there. So database is working fine for me.

I have downloaded Sql developer 18.3.0.277.2354 and some other lower versions as well.
For all these versions, i am able connection with connections(for ex HR,SYSTEM..).
Once i write a query and try to run it, it's not working. for example if i am writing,
select * from employees;

it's not giving me any response, neither output nor error. If i check run button (on top bar of sql developer) all options are disable.
After making a connection, i am not able to delete them as well..

I have checked many videos, tutorials, blogs but noting helpful for me. I have re-installed database and sql-developer properly many times but no results.

Please help me out to resolve this issue.

I checked with the SQL Developer product manager and he's never heard of anything like that.

But they are keen to help - if you post your question on the SQL Developer forum, they even offered to Zoom (webinar)
with you so you can show them your screen.

But one thing you might want to consider is that you can download completely configured database/sql developer machines with labs etc all ready to use. Much easier than installing everything from scratch

Version?

Check compatibility mode

Gregory Scott, November 19, 2021 - 4:18 pm UTC

I had this issue and found that my SQL Developer had Compatibility mode enabled with Windows 7 selected. Clearing this selection resolved the problem.

What exactly are the queries? How long do they take to run in other clients (SQL Developer/SQLcl/SQL*Plus/...)? When did this start happening and what changed at that time? Do any queries return results?

*** PLSQL developer 64 bit 14.0 ***

Hello,

PLSQL developer 64 bit 14.0 is not the same as SQL Developer.
Please check if the tool being used if SQL Developer (which has been developed by Oracle)

Hope it helps.
