Hello i just wanted to ask you a question. Can you please provide me some good online oracle books, tutorials or courses of the dba technologies like RMAN, Golden Gates, Exadata, Data Guard, Data pump and RAC? thanks.

Book writing seems to have dropped off due to the rapid change of pace in tech, but in terms of solid core fundamentals (even though the deep internals may have changed)

Oracle High Availability, Disaster Recovery, and Cloud Services
Expert Oracle Exadata

are a couple of older books that I think still cover the fundamentals well.

Also check out Oracle LiveLabs - plenty of free tutorials and workshops that let you go hands-on

Of course the standard oracle documentation (docs.oracle.com)

Non-production environment.

Hi mr connor i would like to ask you something. Can someone learn these dba technologies alone? or you have to work to a company to learn these in a production environment? I mean if i have installed oracle virtualbox and installed linux can i play with these technologies alone and learn them or it doesn't worth? thanks.

*Any* tinkering with a VM environment makes you a better DBA.

In particular, you export the VM once its a working database, and then do all sorts of crazy things to it to (for example) practice backup/recovery, security, performance tuning etc... knowing that if it all goes wrong, you just resume from your clean VM export and start over
