This is just a quick question. We are on Exadata5-2 with Oracle 12c RAC databases installed on these servers. Can we install Oracle 11gR2 (11.2.0.4.xx) on this existing Exadata servers in a differenct oracle home using the existing Cluster. If so, what are the limitiations and will there be any licensing issues by installing 11g database software and creating databases?

Thanks,

My understanding is that you are allowed to have multiple Oracle Home's on the machine (because after all, we temporarily do that anyway when doing things like upgrades etc). Licensing should not be impacted because we license on the physical components (cpu count etc)

But *please* - get an *official* clarification from Support. Because if it's not *officially* supported, and you have a problem, then saying "AskTom said it was ok" isnt going to help :-)
