Previous discussions on this site seem to suggest that I can license all of the processors in a two node VMware cluster, and host as many VMs running Oracle database as I'd like.

Do I have to license the server nodes for EACH VMware VM that's running an Oracle database, or is the license only required a single time for the hardware that will be running all of the Oracle instances?

Thanks,

Bill

you license to the hardware. On a machine with "soft partitioning", you would license for the whatever the box has physically on it.

not per vm.
