Dear Friends,

I have export/dmp file created through SYSTEM schema. Now I want to import this dmp file into a freshly installed oracle.
Version of both Oracle is 10g. I tried it but its giving some errors.

My export command is

exp userid=SYSTEM/MANAGER file=DAILY_FULL_DB_EXP.dmp full=y;

Commad for import

imp userid=SYSTEM/MANAGER file=DAILY_FULL_DB_EXP.dmp full=y;

Am I doing wrong somewhere? Please help to resolve this issue. I will be obliged.

Regards
Kamran

Wow 10g? Probably time to upgrade.

Anyway, errors are expected because when you do a full database export, then we pick up *everything*.

So when you import it into a fresh database, there is going to be plenty of stuff in the SYSTEM schema (and other Oracle supplied schemas) that are already there. An "empty" Oracle database has plenty of stuff in it in order to run. I'm guessing most of the errors you are seeing is "already exists" etc.

These can be ignored.

DataPump does a lot better job in this regard.
