The objective is to create an apex application where information updates in real time on a user's page automatically as the result of changes made in the database or in the application by another user signed on somewhere else. For example order processing, person A enters order, Order immediately appears on the shipping screen to be sent. The project I am working on is for a client who wants a Jeopardy like game they can use when delivering remote learning classes. So I need to be able to do things like buzz in by participants, show the "answer" and their total on contestant pages, etc.

I google searched for data updating but might not be using the right terms because I keep getting how to build interactive grids, reports, etc. in the traditional sense.
Can you point me in the right direction? I didn't do a LiveSQL example because this is more of a framework/approach question.

Is it reasonable to think there is a solution like this where performance would not be an issue?

Its not trivial, but community member Vincent has done lots of work in this area.

Here's a guide from his blog

Great description of Push Notifications and creating an APEX app

Your response is exactly what I was looking for, it has a great example, and is very well documented with the information needed to implement it. The link also gives an excellent description of delivering an APEX App. I wasn't thinking about building an App before the blogpost, but now I am :)

Sorry for digging up this old thread. But I'm also looking for informations on realtime data display in Oracle APEX. But the video is gone from youtube. Does anyone have a new/up-to-date pointer?
Thank you
