Hi Tom,

Is it ok to use Fiber and Ethernet for cluster_interconnect type mixed?
Ex.
ib0 192.168.3.0 global cluster_interconnect,asm ==> InfiniBand Fiber Interface
eno4 192.168.5.0 global cluster_interconnect,asm ==> Fast Ethernet Interface

Any potential risk on that kind of configuration.
Thank you.

You probably *could* but I probably *wouldnt* :-)

The interconnect is critical to cluster operation and hence sensitive to having the configuration correct.

A quick look at MOS shows examples like:

Doc ID 1394936.1 - problems when MTU is different
Doc ID 1296579.1 - problems when subnet config is incorrect

For any RAC system, my policy is KIS (Keep It Simple) and as close to defaults as possible, because then if you ever have a problem, Support will be better equipped to help you.

Along the same lines, any time you are departing from standard, it is always worth a check with Support first to get their blessing

Thank you,Connor.
Since the IB switch is still on the way, so I made a cross-over way between the 2-node. According to the book, it's not recommended, right?
Any situations would happen in that way?

Thank you.

Crossover for playing/exploring etc is fine.

Crossover for production is a definite no.
