Data Redaction - preventing data proliferation with dynamic masking
This month we will focus on Data Redaction, a feature of Oracle Advanced Security introduced in Oracle Database 11g Release 2. In this session, we will cover the basics of Data Redaction and then review typical deployment cases.

Data Redaction allows the database to perform dynamic data masking (DDM), securing real-time data for production systems to prevent proliferation of sensitive data. Data Redaction masks data in real time, on the fly, so your sensitive data is anonymized before being displayed. Redaction does not change the values stored in the database, it only masks the presentation of that data to an application or client. In this way, you can ensure that sensitive information never leaves your database except under carefully controlled conditions.

With Data Redaction, Oracle Database processes data normally and preserves referential integrity in the background while ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive data. Data Redaction can be used to help comply with data privacy regulations and industry-specific regulations like PCI-DSS.

There are TWO identical sessions - just pick the one that works best with your schedule. As always, we start with announcements, then move into a technical presentation and then open the lines for your questions related to database security. The sessions are recorded and the recordings are usually available a few days after the session is held

Sorry, No Recording Yet!

This session's over, but a recording of the session is not yet available.
