Dear Team,
I am in a process of creating a physical standby database. Already I have created one and synching this physical standby database by shipping log files from primary database and applying them at the secondary site. For this purpose I have written a cron job in linux to automate this process. My query is whether it is possible to shipping and applying log files using some oracle mechanism. Oracle version is 12c 12.1.0 standard edition. If its possible please give me some links or writeups.

Thanks in advance.

Not with Standard Edition unfortunately.

For SE, you'll need to continue with what your doing, ie, manual transfer/apply.

Alternatively, you can check out DBVisit who do a commercial implementation of the same.

Thanks for clearing my doubts. I tried a lot to automate it using oracle itself and then got the feeling may be its standard edition which is restricting this automation.
