Vanity URL Extensions for APEX and ORDS on Oracle Autonomous Database

Starting in September 2021, customers of Oracle Autonomous Database on Shared Infrastructure (ADB) can set up their own custom domain name for APEX, Database Actions, and REST Data Services APIs. This new capability, known as a “Vanity URL” or “Vanity Domain”, enables customers to more easily promote ADB-based applications at a URL that is easy to remember and expresses their own brand identity. In this session, Todd Bottger will supplement the November 2021 Office Hours that introduced Vanity URLs by demonstrating optional extensions to the architecture. He will show how to 1) Configure multiple Vanity URLs for multiple APEX applications on a single instance of ADB and 2) Block Vanity URL access to additional default REST endpoints in ADB that are intended for use by administrators and developers.
