Built-in address geocoding with Oracle technologies

Geocoding is the process of deriving a geographic location from addresses and place names. Addresses and/or place names are commonly the only reference to a location in source datasets. Therefore, geocoding is essential to leverage the power of location-based analysis (i.e., proximity, containment, etc.). The Oracle Spatial Database platform includes geocoding support. However, reference data acquisition and loading are required. Fortunately, several Oracle technologies also provide turn-key geocoding leveraging an Oracle-hosted geocoding web service. This includes Oracle Spatial Studio, Oracle APEX, and the new SQL API for Oracle Autonomous Database. In this session, we will outline and demonstrate these geocoding features so you can begin leveraging them in your organization.
