Hi Team,

I am trying to migrate forms 6i to APEX, but problem that i pose here is that i cannot completely migrate all the functionalities of my forms to Apex even after trying to correct Metadata it does not
migrate forms completely.

So, my question here is
1. Is this functionality able to migrate forms completely to apes?

2. How do we use 2 tables from different schemas referenced in the forms in APex migarion as while migrating i am able to select only 1 schema?

3. Can you suggest some other option to migrate forms 6i to new technology stack we have relative cost efficiency.

Thanks in advance for your valuable reply.

Thanks & Regards,
Nitesh

While Forms and APEX are similar tools, they are fundamentally different. You won't get a 100% conversion from one to the other.

The APEX Migration Guide explains how to convert your Forms to give you a starting point:

https://docs.oracle.com/database/apex-18.2/AEMIG/how-to-convert-application.htm#AEMIG166

But it's just a starting point. You'll need manual work to complete the process. And some parts of the app you may need to rethink completely.

1. No.

2. Not sure what you're asking. You can use synonyms to reference a table in another schema as-if it's in your current user:

create synonym tab for other_user.tab

3. If you have a team of Forms developers, APEX is a good destination. While different they'll still be able to use their existing SQL & PL/SQL skills. And APEX will be more familiar than other languages such as Java. So the retraining effort is lower.

If you have more APEX specific questions, ask them on their forum:

Hi, I used the guide to do the migration
https://docs.oracle.com/database/apex-18.1/AEMIG/using-project-page.htm , I am in the next step

3.7.1.1.3 Upload File, Create Application, and Run Application Buttons
Three buttons display to the above of the Search Bar:

Upload File - Add files to your conversion project.

Create Application - Create an Oracle Application Express application based on the components included in your conversion project.

Run Application - Submit the pages within your Oracle Application Express application to the Application Express engine and render viewable HTML. Note this button only appears after you generate an application.

But I just don't see the button "Upload Another File " and the option "Create Application" donĀ“t apper

That I have to do?

I'm not familiar with the migration tool so can't really help here.

Try asking on the APEX forums https://community.oracle.com/community/groundbreakers/database/developer-tools/application_express
