Hello,

I am using a Macbook and I downloaded the Parallels virtual machine to get Windows 10 in order to download SQL Plus,
I have done all of the minimum requirements and installed SQL Plus, but when it comes to entering my username and password I get the ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
I tried doing the method where I clicked start > type services.msc in the search bar > clicked on 'Start' in every file that starts with Oracle, I only have two of them the OracleMTSRecoveryService and OracleOrcaDb11g_home1ClrAgent and it still does not work

What should I do?

Is this to connect to a local database? (ie, on your own machine?)

If yes, then have you created a database? A service is created for each Oracle database, eg I have a database on my Windows machine called "DB122" and hence there is a service: OracleServiceDB122

If you need a create a database, here's a quick walkthrough video. It is for Linux, but the fundamentals are the same. You would run "Database Creation Assistant" from your Start menu.
