I've installed an Oracle 12.2 database on my PC running Windows 10. That seems to be fine and I can connect to the database and the sample HR database is all there. I have then installed the Oracle Developer Suite v10.1.2. That installation appears to have been successful but when I try to connect to the database via Forms Builder I get an ORA-28040: No matching authentication protocol error. I have trawled the internet but I can't find a definitive answer to the problem.
Any help would be gratefully received.

Check the value for SQLNET.ALLOWED_LOGON_VERSION_CLIENT in your sqlnet.ora.

As you're on Oracle Developer Suite v10.1.2, you probably need to set this to 10 (or lower).
