I was wondering if there's any workaround for uploading data into the tables using the apex wizard when there are more than 45 columns. I am using Apex 5.0.4, Oracle 12 C database. I was going through the documentation where it lists that number of columns are limited to 45, when using the data load wizard. I could get it to work using the Data Workshop under SQL Workshop -> Utilities, but ideally it would be very helpful to have it on the application and let users upload data into the tables from spreadsheets.

I have tried looking at a few blogs and articles that talks about custom upload process from excel to tables using apex, however I am not convinced, doesn't seem to be completely feasible and flexible as they have certain limitations of the order of the columns in which they appear, data types, mapping.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Yeah, sorry, we're still at that limit, even in 5.1

You'll need to use the techniques listed in this thread from the APEX forum

50 columns

Plugin http://www.apex-plugin.com/oracle-apex-plugins/process-type-plugin/excel2collections_271.html can upload 50 columns. And if you take the latest version of that plugin of the demopage, https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=33308, it can load an unlimited number of columns. But that functionality is not documented.
