Hi Team,

We're planning to upgrade our database from 11.2.0.4 to 12.1.0.2 (non-pluggable configuration).

The current version of APEX installed in our environment is 5.1

My question is - during the upgrade process, is the installer smart enough to detect that our version of APEX is more recent than the base 12c version?

Thanks,
Mark

According to MOS note 1286029.1 it will remain at 5.1

"The ... installation script associated with the DB will detect that a higher version of APEX is already installed and will not be run. There may be errors in the Oracle_server.log file but these can be safely ignored."

You can confirm this when you run the pre-upgrade script check - it should return what will be done to the Apex version (if anything)

But I would *test* this :-)

Thanks Connor, that's great news. I have a full SDLC of APEX environments so we'll upgrade our DEV instance and see how it goes.
