Could you please explain why Smart Flash Cache is limited to Solaris and Oracle Linux platforms?

I dont know why - the two possible reasons are

1) technical, ie, we have code path that relies on us being able to have control over the whole path down to storage. (For example, with smart flash cache, you can destroy a flash card and the database will not go down - we can work around it without an outage...so lots of complexity in the stack to manage that)

2) competitive advantage
