I have a clob column in a table and the inserts to this table is taking hours. How can I speedup the insert. Please suggest asap.

You probably need to one or more of:

Do less inserts
Do batch inserts
Lower commit frequency.
Use sqlnet compression.
Use securefile.
Toggle enable/disable storage in row.
Rationalise indexes on the table.
Improve redo log performance
Look at compression settings on table
Examine concurrency issues
Check hwm extension timings

Which ones matter for you ? Well... we can't tell from a one sentence question :-)

Trace the process - see where the time is being lost.
