Hello, I am trying to make a bootable disk to run Linux on my laptop. I am learning how to use oracle database. I have downloaded the iOS image and when I start my laptop I boot off of the disk and then I get a message that a serve is not found. I don't know what this means and I can't find any useful information on what I am missing. I have followed the instructions to the letter. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an 3 year old Acer laptop that I am converting into Linux os to run my database on. I am not trying to partition an os, I am wiping out the windows completely and just running oracle Linux.

Thank you.

Can I suggest an alternative ? Download Virtualbox because then you can also download pre-cooked VM's containing oracle and the dev tools etc.

If you really want to do all the heavy lifting yourself and install linux etc etc...then perhaps take a look at these articles

https://oracle-base.com/articles/linux/oracle-linux-7-installation

http://www.gokhanatil.com/2011/07/how-to-install-oracle-linux-56-step-by.html

But for me - on my laptop I use

a) Oracle on windows
b) Oracle on Linux inside VirtualBox

so I can explore both windows and linux variants.
