I am looking for a host operating system utility, which would efficiently extract data from any ORACLE table into a flat file, similar to Sybase ASE or SQL Server bcp utility. The utility should take connection parameters with user credentials along with fully qualified table or view name as command line parameters. Preferably it should allow to specify field and row termination strings (to avoid confusion with the field data), and a counter of the extracted rows at the end of the file. Does anything like this exist for Oracle?

datapump and export allow you to unload to file file, but its in a proprietary format.

Go to our Resource tabs, and enter "unloader" as a filter in the presentations section for a simple SQL Plus facility.
