hi Team,

even after deleting all the controlfiles the checkpoint doesn't gives me error, where the checkpoint writes the information where no controlfile is available?
Kindly clarify.

It might be the case that file handles to the now non-existent controlfiles are still accessible to the database.

Because you're correct - if you're controlfiles are gone, you should expect your database to struggle very quickly after they've gone.

(Assuming this is not a production system you are talking about) it would be interesting to issue a backup controlfile command and see what happens :-)

hi Connor,

I'm running this on linux 6.2, but it is a personal environment but not a production hence no much loads are running on the DB
